HAPPY NEW YEAR!
(Yep, K and I rang in the new year cozied up at home with a little bubbly and rosemary popcorn. Recipe soon!)
2014 was an amazing year. I got engaged to the love of my life at our favorite vineyard and we started planning our wedding (June 13, 2015 woot!). I started a new job that has been both challenging and fulfilling. K and I started this blog to share our love of cooking. And we began saving in earnest to buy a house and start our family. I couldn’t have asked for a better year!
But with the sheer amount of work that I took on this year, I let my health fall to the wayside. I’m not typically one to make New Year’s resolutions. I can’t actually remember the last time I made one. But as 2014 was drawing to a close, I made a promise to myself to make my health a top priority.
I’m kicking off 2015 with 30 days of hot yoga, starting tomorrow. I’m pretty nervous because I’m not a natural when it comes to yoga. And I tend to be hard on myself and get frustrated when things don’t come easily to me. These 30 days of intense yoga practice will be a physical, mental, and emotional challenge that I hope will help me focus my energy and exercise both kindness and patience.
I’m also going to work on finding balance in my diet, without restrictions or notions of what I have to eat or shouldn’t eat — focusing on whole foods that are full of life and flavor.
I’m beyond excited for what 2015 has in store for K and I, and I look forward to sharing this journey with you.
